    Windows 8 is Here!

    Today, Microsoft has launched its newest operating system, Windows 8. Windows 8 is faster, has a new look, and more secure than its predecessors. Its design is primarily  for mobile devices. Therefore, for all you touchscreen lovers, Windows 8 is for you! On the other hand, Windows 8 can be installed on desktops.Image of Windows 8 on a Tablet

     Windows 8 is the beginning for something new for Microsoft. Its futuristic design is missing a key component that is known as  the Start button on the task bar. Although the Start button has vanished, Microsoft has implemented a Start screen for Windows 8. Everything you need will be on the Start screen after it is customized to your likings.

    There are several amazing features for Windows 8 such as:

    • Modern User Interface
    •  Faster Start Up
    • USB 3.0 Support
    • Cloud Computing
    • New Security Features
    • New App Platform for the New Windows Store
    • Sharing and Communication between Devices

    Considering these new features, Windows 8 has evolved for the future. Some features such as DVDs playing in Windows Media Player and Netflix will not be included in Windows 8 as a default feature.  Nevertheless, if you upgrade to Windows 8 Pro, then these features are added.

    Some basic requirements for your computer system to have in order to install or upgrade Windows 8 are:

    • CPU
      • 1 GHz or faster
        • PAE, NX and SSE2 support
    • Memory (RAM)
      • 1 GB (32-bit)
      • 2 GB (64-bit)
    • Graphics
      • DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver
    • Hard Drive
      • 16GB available hard-disk space (32-bit)
      •  20GB available hard-disk space (64-bit)
